Under no circumstances should these Broncos be back in 2023

Under no circumstances should these Broncos be back in ’23

Lloyd Cushenberry and Graham Glasgow, OL

Two more underperforming offensive linemen who should not return are Lloyd Cushenberry and Graham Glasgow.  Cushenberry was a third-round pick back in 2020 and was never more than a replacement-level player.

He did go on IR earlier in 2022 and was never brought back onto the roster, even though he was healthy enough to be.  Graham Glasgow played some center this year and has not lived up to the contract he signed with the Broncos a few years ago.

Both players were also massive contributors to the team’s poor offensive line play.  Contractually, it makes too much sense for Denver to cut Glasgow.  They could save over $10 million against their cap.  Cushenberry would be entering the last year of his rookie deal, so a cut or trade would not net much cap savings.

Either way, Cush should not return.  I’m not sure he’s even someone the team could consider keeping around as a backup.  And to be honest, it might be the best path forward to have a fresh start with this unit.

I’d craft a new unit around Garett Bolles and Quinn Meinerz, two players who should return to the OL room in 2023.
