Under no circumstances should these Broncos be back in 2023

The Denver Broncos had some problems in 2022, to say the least, and under no circumstances should these players be back in uniform in 2023.  I think there are some obvious choices for players who should not be back with the team under any circumstances.

The Broncos will be going through a period of transition which should include being aggressive in free agency as they do not have much draft capital.  With a new and established coach in the fold in Sean Payton, both he and George Paton have already gotten to work in trying to improve this roster.

I’ve identified several players that I believe should not return to the roster in 2023 under no circumstances.  Whether it’s because of their contract, poor play, or a mix of both, there are a few players on the roster that should not be on the roster when the 2023 season begins.

Under no circumstances should these Broncos be back in ’23

Kareem Jackson, Safety

Kareem Jackson is a free agent in 2023 and had a disastrous season in 2022 for the Denver Broncos and has overstayed his welcome in Denver.  Most notably, Jackson constantly got burned in coverage and I remember quite a few instances where Jackson was on the other end of a touchdown catch by the other team.

With Justin Simmons turning 30 in 2023 and Caden Sterns looking poised to take over the next safety spot, it’s crucial that Denver does not re-sign Jackson.

At this point, he’s probably stunting the growth of other much younger and better safeties who were behind him on the depth chart.  Jackson had a few good seasons for Denver, but enough is enough.
