Three potential cap casualties for Broncos to monitor

Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers could be going through a bit of a transition period if Aaron Rodgers retires or wants a trade.  The Packers are about $17 million under the cap, but by cutting Aaron Jones as a post-June 1st designation, they could save $16 million against their cap.

Aaron Jones is a quality running back with three 1,000-yard rushing seasons in six years.  He also averaged 5.3 yards per carry this season and has a career yards per carry average of 5.1.  He also has 242 career receptions, so this is a darn good running back.

Jones is 28 years old, so he may only have another year or so of production left.

However, with Javonte Williams on the mend, Jones would make a ton of sense for the Broncos.  I do think the team re-signs Latavius Murray, and Sean Payton does enjoy his pass-catching running backs, so I think Jones would be a near-perfect fit.

And a RB room of Aaron Jones and Latavius Murray could get even more lethal once Williams returns.

This could be a stellar move for the Broncos, and hopefully, the Packers cut him.
