3 Denver Broncos under contract in 2023 fans want to move on from: Kareem Jackson, safety

Kareem Jackson has not been bad at the strong safety position for the Denver Broncos. There are far worse areas on the team that could use an improvement at going forward. However, with Jackson’s career coming to an end in a year or two, the team should plug in younger guys going forward.

Caden Sterns has shown some flashes of talent in his limited time on the field. Even though his snap count has been limited due to Jackson’s presence, he still has played a decent amount. I’m a huge fan of Sterns and think that getting him on the field for an extended period of time sooner than later would be the right move.

Learning from afar and learning while playing the game is a pretty significant difference. While there are some benefits from learning on the sideline, Sterns could greatly improve his game if he’s out there doing it.

Ideally, you want a safety who would be able to play both man and zone defense. Speed is a huge factor in deciding who will play and so with Jackson in his mid-30s, that speed is no longer around.

I wouldn’t rule out the team adding even another safety into the mix. It is just no secret that Jackson’s time with the team is almost up.
