The Denver Broncos could go all in during the coming free agency period, but what type of moves would headline that for the team? Every year during free agency, a team may spend millions upon millions of dollars and be hyper-aggressive.
Other teams may do the complete opposite. This coming free agency period is turning into one where the Broncos may truly be going all in. They don’t have adequate draft capital, and they’d have an easier time freeing up more cap space, as I outlined here.
This could be an exciting time, as acquiring immediate impact players would be a huge boost to an already good roster. George Paton and Sean Payton will work together, and no matter what happens, will put together what is likely going to be a darn good plan for the roster to compete now and in the future.
If the team were to go all in for 2023, what type of free agency moves could the team make?
Broncos free agency: Going all in for the 2023 season
Move #1: Packaging Courtland Sutton in a deal for DeAndre Hopkins
The first move to go all in would be to package Courtland Sutton in a deal to trade for star receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who has over 10,000 career receiving yards and just might end up in the Hall of Fame one day.
The Cardinals are entering a rebuilding period and have hired a new General Manager, and are in the process of hiring a head coach. The team could enjoy nice cap savings by trading Hopkins, and if the Broncos were to be players, they could send Sutton in a deal, as he is younger and cheaper than D-Hop.
The Cardinals might not want to trade Hopkins without receiving a similar player in return, and Sutton could fit that bill perfectly.
Plus, this would create an absolutely lethal duo alongside Jerry Jeudy.
