3. Broncos could lose DBs coach Christian Parker

This is sort of the Denver Broncos version of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie in a way.

If you fire Nathaniel Hackett, Ejiro Evero might want to leave. If Ejiro Evero ends up leaving, you might risk losing some of the top assistants on the defensive side of the ball.

Although, this particular one could go either way.

Defensive backs coach Christian Parker has been tremendous for the Broncos, helping truly elevate the play of the guys in that unit from stars to unheralded players. Justin Simmons and Pat Surtain II have taken the next steps in their games, while day three picks like Damarri Mathis and Caden Sterns have emerged as starter-quality players on the back end.

Christian Parker deserves his flowers.

And if Ejiro Evero ends up leaving to go somewhere else, you can bet that he’s going to want to bring Christian Parker along with him on his new staff. Parker is one of the true up-and-coming defensive coaches in the NFL and the Broncos are lucky to have him coaching their defensive backfield.

As great of a gig as he has with those guys in Denver, he could look to boost his resume in another NFL city working under Evero and perhaps getting defensive coordinator opportunities in the near future. Which could then lead to head coach opportunities.

It’s not guaranteed that Parker will leave with Evero, especially if the Broncos do bring back Fangio. It was Fangio who hired Parker in Denver in the first place. But the domino effect of firing Hackett, leading to the potential loss of Ejiro Evero, could also lead to the potential loss of someone like Christian Parker.
