Broncos who have earned new deals with the team: Dre’Mont Jones, Defensive lineman
Dre’Mont Jones will be an unrestricted free agent after the season and he should be one of the team’s top priorities. In terms of in-house free agents, Paton should be working on a new deal for him first.
But that won’t come cheap. According to Spotrac, the market value for Jones this offseason has him getting a contract in the neighborhood of $7.2 million per season. A three-year deal would pay him about $21.8 million.
Jones’ current deal pays him just over $1 million a year.
He leads the team in sacks this season with 6.5 and he has done that without the threat of another premiere pass-rusher on the field following the trade of Bradley Chubb, as Randy Gregory has missed nearly the entire season.
The former third-round pick just turned 26 years old and has 22 sacks for his career thus far. This is a player the Broncos do not want to let get away especially if they want to continue building up what has been a solid defense for some time now.
Jones should get a nice deal from the team this offseason to prevent him from being available on the open market and susceptible to bigger offers.
