Broncos should get a good look at Brandon Johnson, Wide receiver

You could lump Jalen Virgil into this conversation as well, as both he and Brandon Johnson seem to be above-average at least in terms of undrafted players and both could be part of the team’s future plans at an important position which, to be fair, has seriously underperformed for the Broncos this year.

Much of that can be placed on bad offense and bad quarterback play but the team is going to have Russell Wilson playing quarterback next year too so it won’t hurt anything for him to continue building a rapport with some of the younger guys on the roster.

Johnson has caught just six passes on the season with one of those going for a touchdown but he looked solid in the preseason and if not for an injury just before the regular season kicked off, he was likely going to make the 53-man roster outright.

That honor instead went to Virgil, who looked good in preseason as well and was on the receiving end of one of the team’s most electric plays of the season, a 66-yard touchdown catch against the Tennessee Titans.

That was one of just two catches for Virgil this season, however. It would be nice to see one or both of these guys get more of an opportunity against the Chargers this Sunday.
