A game between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams seemed like it was going to be a great Christmas gift for us when the schedule was announced, but let’s be honest, it now feels like we’re getting a lump of coal.

Both teams are eliminated from postseason contention, but that doesn’t mean we can’t bet on the game and try to make some money.

The Broncos are set as 3-point favorites on the road, and the total is set at a low number of 36.5.

What about player props? A defensive battle could provide some value, so let’s jump into my three favorite prop bets for this Christmas Day showdown.

Best NFL Prop Bets for Broncos vs. Rams

  • Baker Mayfield UNDER 184.5 passing yards
  • Latavius Murray OVER 11.5 receiving yards
  • Cam Akers UNDER 54.5 rushing yards

Baker Mayfield UNDER 184.5 passing yards

Baker Mayfield had an impressive 98-yard game-winning drive against the Raiders in Week 14, and that fooled people into thinking he might still be a good quarterback. Fortunately for us, we can capitalize on him being overvalued and take the UNDER on his passing total in this game.

Mayfield is averaging only 183.8 passing yards per game this season, and now he faces a Broncos defense that allows only 5.5 yards per pass attempt, the second best mark in the NFL.

Latavius Murray OVER 11.5 receiving yards

With Russell Wilson back in the lineup for the Broncos, I expect them to ease him back into action, which should result in plenty of short passes to his running back, Latavius Murray.

He surpassed this receiving yards number in four of his last five games in which Wilson played from start to finish, and even last week he surpassed this total with a single catch. Let’s hope for it to cash just as easily this week against the Rams.

Cam Akers UNDER 54.5 rushing yards

Cam Akers is only averaging 36.8 rushing yards per game, and his number is inflated due to strong performances in recent weeks. He’s still not the workhorse back for the Rams, as he played less than 50% of snaps in three of their last five games.

If you believe the Broncos are going to get out to an early lead, then the Rams will need to throw the ball often to catch up, which will limit Akers’ carries. I’ll back the UNDER on his rushing total on Christmas.
