Broncos need to find out what Russ has left

The Broncos are tied to Russell Wilson, there is no getting out of that right now. But how good is he at this point?

The team had no contingency plan at quarterback this season because it was believed that Wilson was so good that even an adequate backup was not going to be necessary. The team had one of the weakest backup quarterback battles during the preseason between Brett Rypien and Josh Johnson.

No matter what, the Broncos need to have a better plan going into 2023, and that will depend on what they think Wilson can do for them in the near future.

The team could look to sign a veteran passer to push him as the starter or they could look to find one in the draft to develop and build as the guy for the future.

Just sitting back and acting like Wilson has another great five or six years left in him would be highly irresponsible and would set the team back even further.
