Will the Denver Broncos let George Paton fix the mess that’s been made?

To be fair to George Paton here, winning in the NFL doesn’t always happen overnight, but it can. When you see teams like the Dolphins and Vikings having such great success with their new coaches despite having much-maligned QBs under center, you can’t help but wonder why that kind of success can’t happen to you.

Does Paton deserve the chance to turn things back around with the Denver Broncos? Maybe. The more the team loses, the less inclined I am to believe that his job is overly safe. The new ownership group could be getting ready to make wholesale changes and there’s no way they’re impressed with the results of their first year with the organization.

In order to move on from George Paton, the team would need to have a viable alternative in mind, at least in my opinion. There are some intriguing options out there like possibly hiring Jim Harbaugh to be the head coach/general manager, and that option seems like less of a pipe dream when you consider all of the connections to Broncos ownership and Harbaugh.

With that being said, it’s important to keep a level head when looking at Paton’s moves. Right now, it’s hard to see anything positive with the Denver Broncos besides the defense, which has been great all year. How much do you hold Paton responsible for the offense’s lack of success? Is it to the point of firing him?

Do you give him a shot to go after another head coach in 2023, or does ownership see an issue with Paton picking the next head coach of the team if he’s on a short leash in 2023?

There are a lot of major question marks surrounding the Denver Broncos right now and certainly, nobody expected question marks about the GM going into this season. Here we are, though, 13 weeks into the 2022 campaign and George Paton’s seat is potentially heating up weekly.
