Best head coaches for the Denver Broncos in 2023

2. Frank Reich

Frank Reich is a younger and less experienced version of Jim Caldwell, but I think would be a slightly better hire.  Reich was recently fired as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, where he went 40-33-1.

I personally believe he got fired because of the GM primarily.  Chris Ballard’s ineptness and lack of position value awareness greatly hurt the team.  Andrew Luck retired years ago and has never been able to put in place any sort of succession plan.

The best players on the Colts are an inside linebacker and a guard, so I’m not sure how any of that falls on Reich.  Reich also has some proof as a QB developer.  Reich has been able to field multiple top-10 scoring offenses with the likes of Philip Rivers and Carson Wentz, who were both a disaster the year before they arrived in Indy.

Reich was also able to field a league-average offense with Jacoby Brissett back in 2019, which is impressive.  If the Broncos want to get the most out of Russell Wilson, hiring Frank Reich is the way to do it.

He’d also build a phenomenal staff as well, as two of his former assistants are head coaches right now.
