Three players who shouldn’t be back on Broncos in 2023

KJ Hamler, wide receiver

KJ Hamler was a second-round pick of the Broncos back in the 2020 NFL Draft and is literally a 50/50 shot to play any given week.  He’s been in and out of the lineup this year and was recently placed on IR with a hamstring injury he just can’t seem to get over.

On the field, Hamler is a legitimate vertical threat and is someone that opposing defenses need to take note of.  However, he can’t stay on the field.  Hamler might be able to function as a WR4 for the Broncos if the team had a consistent trio above him.

However, Denver needs to cut ties after three seasons and see if they can get any sort of draft compensation for him.  He’s contributed virtually nothing to the team, and his career stats are numbers that some receivers can accumulate in half a season.

He’s got desirable qualities, but those qualities are rarely seen on the field for the Broncos.  Hopefully, a wide receiver-needy team would offer something for him.  Either way, the Broncos should try and find a replacement for Hamler in free agency or the draft next offseason.
