Samson Ebukam, EDGE

The Broncos need to focus most of their resources on the offensive side of the ball, but Paton, as he should, loves his edge rushers. Instead of bringing in one of the huge names that will be available and handing out a boatload of money to that player, Paton will opt for one of the lesser-known guys out there.

Samson Ebukam plays on one of the best defensive units in the league in San Francisco and he is a consistent playmaker for that defense.

The former fourth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams has 22 career sacks, including 3.5 so far this season, and he is still just 27 years old.

For the right contract, he could be a wonderful addition to the Broncos’ roster and a guy who could come in and earn plenty of defensive snaps right off the bat.

In recent years, the Broncos have traded away both Von Miller and Bradley Chubb so they will obviously need to retool that spot.

Dre’Mont Jones and Randy Gregory should be the team’s top two defensive options on the front seven going forward but the team will also have Nik Bonitto, Baron Browning and Jacob Martin as well.

Ebukam would fit with that group nicely.
