The Denver Broncos have had a rough go of things in 2022 and as much as fans would like to hope that the playoffs are still in reach, it is going to take a small miracle for that to happen.

Sitting at 3-6 on the year, the Broncos face long odds of ending their postseason drought. And while the start of free agency in 2023 is still around four months away, a good general manager is already keeping tabs on that market.

Though general manager George Paton is probably not on the hot seat as of right now, he does need to hit on some decisions in 2023 to get this ship going in the right direction.

The Broncos need to get much better on offense and that is where the focus needs to be, both in free agency and the draft. There are some players out there that can help that happen, Paton needs to be savvy and be able to lure them to Denver with the right deal.

As of right now, the Broncos have over $21 million in cap space available for 2023, but that number will obviously change as the front office moves and shuffles things around to create more room.

So this is a very early look at four free agents that Paton should already be taking notes on.

The Broncos are going to need to invest heavily in reshaping the offensive line and that should start right in the middle at the center spot.

Lloyd Cushenberry is not the answer there and he is a guy the team should part ways with after this season.

Ethan Pocic is a veteran center who has made over 40 career starts at the position. He is currently with the Cleveland Browns after signing a one-year deal this offseason but he was initially drafted by the Seattle Seahawks and spent five years with the team.

That is where he was the center for Russell Wilson and that is why bringing him in makes sense.

The Broncos may end up moving on from Nathaniel Hackett as head coach, but the team is married to Wilson, at least for now. Paton will need to focus his offseason on making Wilson as successful as he can because his future with the organization is going to depend on it.

Bringing in a solid center who he is familiar with like Pocic would be a good start.
