4 Broncos who will be looking for a new team in 2023
Broncos who will be looking for a new team in 2023: Melvin Gordon, Running Back
Much of Melvin Gordon’s future in Denver depends on how the team chooses to use Edmonds, but it doesn’t seem like Gordon will be in the Broncos’ plans.
Gordon has had a mediocre run in Denver, marred by fumbles and incidents that have rubbed the fanbase the wrong way, such as his DUI arrest (a charge that was later dismissed) as well as his pouting on the sidelines in a game earlier this season.
The Broncos will need Williams back and at 100 percent but there are several other directions the team could go in at running back next season, including free agency and drafting another one.
Gordon will hit the 30-year age mark next April as well, diminishing his value that much more.
There could be some teams in the league that could use his services and be willing to give him a fresh start in a new environment and locker room, but as Gordon found out this past offseason, that likely won’t be a very big market.
How he could stick around: In my mind, he can’t and he won’t. This is the one player on this list who I feel will for sure be playing for a team other than the Broncos in 2023.
