To re-sign or let go: Denver Broncos 2023 free agents

Notable defensive players: Dre’Mont Jones, Alex Singleton, Kareem Jackson

Dre’Mont Jones is one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL and is on pace for double-digit sacks this year.  He’s an absolute menace in the rush game and can get to the QB.  He and DJ Jones have fed off of each other’s success this year, and the last Jones on the defensive line deserves his payday.

I hated the Alex Singleton signing and was dreading the day that he got meaningful snaps for Denver.  I’ve been proven wrong.  Singleton leads the team in tackles and has played very well.  Perhaps he’s priced his way out of Denver, but if the Broncos can re-sign him, then they should do it.

Kareem Jackson is in his fourth year with Denver and is a massive liability in coverage.  He’s a tone-setter but with Caden Sterns waiting in the wings for a full-time role, I don’t see any scenario where Jackson is re-signed unless he’s OK with being a backup.

The core of the defense is still intact, which is good.  The Broncos have their pass rushers under contract and their key secondary pieces under contract as well.  I would not expect George Paton to dive heavily into the defense into free agency.

Re-sign: Dre’Mont Jones, Alex Singleton

Let-go: Kareem Jackson
