When the Denver Broncos take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon in London (or early in the morning for us here in the USA) they will look different than they ever have before. At least, as far as a real game is concerned.

We’ve only seen the Denver Broncos wearing this particular uniform combination on the practice field, and even then, it’s a rare sight to behold. The Broncos have had many uniform combinations over the last 10 or so years, but never in the history of the franchise have we seen the team wear its traditional white road tops with its alternate blue pants. The blue pants are typically reserved for when the team wears blue tops, just once a year.

Apparently, captains of the team came together to decide that the Broncos would be wearing this particular uniform combo in Week 8 against the Jaguars.

Denver Broncos will debut brand-new uniform combination vs. Jaguars

Let’s just be real about something for a second — there’s a reason that this uniform combination has never been worn before by the Denver Broncos. The fact that the stripes down the side of the uniform don’t match makes this very difficult to pull off. The only way the Broncos are going to pull this off? Well, they’re going to have to win.

And if they win wearing this uniform combination, maybe they’ll just never stop wearing it. That’s really all that matters. There’s so much at stake here for the Broncos, perhaps including Nathaniel Hackett’s job as the team’s head coach and whether or not the team becomes a “seller” at the NFL trade deadline, which is just days away.

Odd or even ugly uniform combination aside, the Broncos have to find a way to beat the Jaguars and get to 3-5 heading into their bye week. If all it takes is changing the uniforms, so be it. The Broncos’ last win came when they were wearing the blue pants, to be fair. That was a battle against the San Francisco 49ers a few weeks ago. Since then, the Broncos have lost four straight and their season is hanging by a thread, if even that at this point.

The team could have some reinforcements this week as Russell Wilson says he’s “ready to rock” and he even brought back his trademark “Let’s Ride” at the end of his Wednesday press conference. We’ll see if Wilson can get the Broncos’ offense back on track this week, white top, blue pants, and all.
