The Denver Broncos are projected by some to trade Bradley Chubb soon. Did the team already have this planned before the season even started?  Broncos Country seems to be split on this issue of whether or not the team should trade the fifth-year pass rusher.

He was drafted with the 5th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft and has had an up-and-down career thus far.  However, he is on pace to have the best season of his career, and I’m not sure he’s even appeared on the injury report this year.

Bradley Chubb is 26 years old and is going to sign a lucrative extension with a team, whether it be the Broncos or someone else.  However, the team knew going into this season that he was in the last year of his deal and did come with injury concerns.

In fact, George Paton already knew that Chubb likely won’t be with the team in 2023, and I truly think he’s planned to trade him all along.

Did George Paton already plan on trading Bradley Chubb?

The moves that the Broncos made in the offseason indicate that the Broncos had already planned for life after Chubb.  The team signed pass rusher Randy Gregory in free agency to a five-year, $70 million deal.  Their next move was to send Baron Browning, a promising second-year player, to the edge full-time.

Browning was drafted in 2021 and played inside linebacker for his rookie year.  The team made the choice to send him off the edge, and he’s been nothing short of spectacular, and it’s clear that Browning can start at a high level from this position.

He is freakishly athletic and has a first step that might only rival Von Miller.  Seriously, watch it.  Their final move was to use a second-round pick, which is a high commitment, on Nik Bonitto, an edge rusher out of college in the past draft.

Three notable additions to the pass-rushing department not only have given the Broncos a boost off the edge, which has been evident this year, but also give you a good situation for when the Denver Broncos trade Bradley Chubb.

George Paton was planning for this all along, gang.
