Three notable Broncos who won’t be on the 2023 roster

Melvin Gordon, Running back

Melvin Gordon should have been cut from the Denver Broncos a few weeks ago.  I’m not sure why the team continues to give him chances given his recent performances.  He was a good running back at one point, but his fumbles are becoming glaring and his yards per carry is under 4.0.

Gordon was essentially benched in Denver’s last game for recent arrival Latavius Murray.  He apparently complained enough that Nathaniel Hackett announced he’d start the next game.  Now, you tell me how that makes sense.

He was benched during the game against the Chargers, as Latavius Murray was running hard, but all of a sudden, he’s now the starter?  Melvin Gordon can still contribute somewhat, but shouldn’t be on the Broncos come 2023.

Being that Javonte Williams is injured, I’d expect George Paton to look to the pending running back free agent market to try and fill the RB1 role until Williams comes back.  Perhaps Damien Harris or Saquon Barkley could be options if they hit the market.

Melvin Gordon’s time in Denver should be over.
