Between pending free agents and potential trades, the Denver Broncos roster is going to look different as the team heads into the next seasons.  It’s clear already that the Broncos’ roster is going to look different in a few places in 2023.

Between potential trades before the deadline, trades in the offseason, and free agency decisions, George Paton will attempt to work his magic again and fill the remaining holes on this roster.  Doing this might put him in tough situations with certain decisions.

He does not have a connection with players drafted during the John Elway era, so players who were drafted during his tenure could be out the door.  Which Denver Broncos currently on the roster won’t be on the roster come 2023?

1. Dalton Risner, Guard

Guys, it’s time to separate the person from the player.  Dalton Risner is a Colorado kid who was likely jumping up and down when he was drafted by the Denver Broncos back in 2019.  His rookie season was very good, but it’s been downhill since then.

He just doesn’t look good anymore.  He can’t sustain blocks and gets beat pretty frequently.  He’s an admirable man who does good off-field things but has been a reason why the Broncos offensive line hasn’t been that good.

He will be a free agent at the end of the season and should not be re-signed.  Some teams will likely pay more than the Broncos would even consider.  Believe it or not, there are teams who are more in need of quality offensive line play than the Denver Broncos.
