The Denver Broncos have some serious changes to undergo to help fix their franchise, so let’s take a look at what will happen in the next calendar year. Even though we are just six games into the 2022 season, it is clear that substantive changes are needed to help the franchise. Fortunately, about 98% of them are on the offensive side of the ball and the coaching staff.
George Paton appeared to have struck out on the hiring of Nathaniel Hackett, and if he did indeed do this to lure Aaron Rodgers, this is an even bigger failure. George Paton has largely done a good job as the GM so far of the Broncos. I do think the Nathaniel Hackett coaching administration is perhaps the worst in the NFL and is not an accurate representation of how talented the roster is.
Paton will likely have another offseason of heavy, intense work. He’ll likely need to recoup some draft picks somehow and will have to rebuild certain parts of the offense. It is clear that, even though I think his seat is a little bit warm, he 100% knows what he is doing.
So, what three guaranteed changes for the Denver Broncos can we bank on in the next calendar year?

The offensive line will feature noticeable changes for the better
The Broncos offensive line has actually been consistent in who has appeared as the starters for the last few seasons. Garett Bolles, Dalton Risner, and Lloyd Cushenberry have all been starters since 2020, at least.
Quinn Meinerz is starting his second season, but obviously, right tackle remains an issue. With Garett Bolles’ play suffering a bit and his recent season-ending injury, I would not be surprised to see the team part with Bolles entirely.
I also think guys like Dalton Risner and Lloyd Cushenberry haven’t played well either for a while or at all, so I genuinely expect those two positions to be replaced this offseason. In my opinion, the only safe position on the Broncos’ offensive line is Quinn Meinerz, who looks to be a stud at right guard, or, if Denver wants, likely anywhere on the interior.
I’d expect George Paton to solve the right tackle spot this offseason, draft some quality o-linemen, and assemble a new offensive line in 2023 that features multiple new starters.
