Though things are not looking good for the Denver Broncos at the moment, a stellar defense in 2022 has been led by the performance of Bradley Chubb.

The Broncos are not getting the results that they want and the season is starting to go in the wrong direction without any sign of a turnaround. The loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night may have marked a new low point for the franchise.

But despite a 2-3 record, the Broncos have fielded one of the best defenses in the league and outside linebacker Bradley Chubb has been fantastic. Playing in the final year of his contract, Chubb has registered 5.5 sacks in five games and has added two forced fumbles as well.

Chubb gets consistent pressure on the quarterback as well and though he may not always get the sack, he has forced several hurries and bad throws. He is having what could end up being his best year as a professional, right when he needed to.

Chubb is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent after the season and could be auditioning for his next team.

Though he has played an extra game, Chubb currently ranks second in the league in sacks this season, trailing only Nick Bosa who has six.

Due to a shockingly bad offense, the Broncos are once again wasting a great defense. That has been a recurring theme since the team won the Super Bowl in 2015. Should that continue, Chubb may be enticed to choose a new team next season.

But for the time being, it has been refreshing to see a player who everyone always knew was talented but was slowed by injuries, step up and play well. Chubb has not had double-digit sacks since his rookie year in 2018 but that could change by the end of this season.
