The Denver Broncos are 2-2 and are several weeks away from the trade deadline. Could they get some draft capital back by making some moves? For the first time in a while, the Denver Broncos might be in a situation where they could actually add a player or two at the trade deadline.
For the last half-decade, the Broncos have been one of the worst teams in the NFL, and have traded some players before the deadline to get some draft capital back. Now, they appear to be in a different situation. Even though they’ve had to scratch and claw just to get to 2-2, they’re still likely going to hang around and flirt with a playoff spot for most of the season.
I do think the offense ends up regressing to the mean eventually, and the defense is playoff caliber. Even if Denver turns it around a bit and has a winning record by the time the deadline hits, which players could they trade?

Denver Broncos trade candidates at the deadline
Albert Okwuegbunam, TE
The Denver Broncos tight ends have been virtually nonexistent this year, and Albert Okwuegbunam hasn’t taken that leap forward that many had hoped for. Both Andrew Beck and Eric Saubert have more receiving yards than the third-year player.
The Broncos should also begin to see Greg Dulcich return to action, and depending on how he plays, that could force a situation where Albert O becomes inactive. He got just one snap against the Raiders, which was lower than Saubert, Beck, and Tomlinson. It’s clear that he’s falling out of favor in Denver, and I think it’s just a matter of time before he isn’t on the roster anymore.
The Broncos might be able to get a late-round pick for his services, and they could try and send him to a rebuilding team. This also gives the Broncos a huge need at tight end during the offseason.

Denver Broncos trade candidates at the deadline
Graham Glashow, G
Graham Glasgow hasn’t been good in his action so far for the Broncos. Quinn Meinerz is trying to return from the hamstring injury he suffered earlier in the season, and it’s clear to see the fall in play when Glasgow is on the field.
Once a very good interior player, Glashow just hasn’t lived up to the contract he signed with Denver a few years ago. It’s a puzzling scenario, in my opinion. He did excel when he played center back in 2018, so I’m not sure why the Broncos haven’t at least given him some game action there, because it’s clear he does have talent.
At this point, I think it’s safe to say that he isn’t likely to stick around past this season, and I think trying to trade him when Meinerz returns would be a good idea. Denver still has Netane Muti and Luke Wattenberg as depth pieces in case of injury.
And if the team ever sees Billy Turner on the field, he has experience playing inside as well. Someone that was supposed to be a clear solution along the offensive line has now turned into a backup who seemingly gets beat frequently.

Denver Broncos trade candidates at the deadline
Michael Ojemudia, CB
Perhaps some in Broncos Country have forgotten about Michael Ojemudia, who is currently injured. OJ was drafted in the third round back in 2020 and actually played rather well in 16 appearances and 11 starts. He notched six passes defenses and four forced fumbles. He also had 62 total tackles as well.
He hasn’t been nearly as good since then between his two appearances in 2021 and the offseason activities. He’s also a holdover from the John Elway era, so George Paton likely doesn’t have much attachment to the player.
This could be a scenario similar to Greg Dulcich’s. I think when Ojemudia gets healthy, the team could look to trade him. Likewise when Dulcich gets healthy, perhaps the team could look to trade Albert Okwuegbunam. The Denver Broncos do not have a ton of draft capital for 2023 and I’m sure would be interested in almost anything they could get.
