Broncos vs. Raiders: Matchup Of The Week?

Patrick Surtain vs. Davante Adams

One of the most exciting aspects of the game is not the chorus of boos that will reign down as Josh McDaniels, but the on-field battle we will be treated to between Davante Adams and Patrick Surtain.

Patrick Surtain allowed zero receptions last week against the 49ers and has one of the lowest pass allowance rates when the ball is thrown in his direction. Meanwhile, Davante Adams has wasted no time establishing himself with the Raiders, already having three touchdowns on the season. This makes for the perfect equation of a push-and-pull between the two players all game long.

If Surtain is able to keep the connection between Carr and Adams at bay, the Raiders will need to look down other avenues with Hunter Renfrow out for Sunday. Though having an up-and-down season, Darren Waller may see his workload increase significantly. Raiders will also likely look to Mack Hollins, who has come out of the woodwork and has played well.

This has the making to be a great AFC-West matchup for years to come.
