Broncos’ top 4 storylines ahead of Week 4 clash with Raiders
Top Broncos storylines in Week 4: Facing Josh McDaniels
Of course, the biggest storyline heading into this game is easily the fact that Josh McDaniels will be on the opposite sideline as head coach of the Raiders, his first head coaching job since being fired by the Broncos in 2010.
The Broncos have a great history of facing their former head coaches.
McDaniels was not a popular figure in Denver and is among the most hated former coaches/players in team history, just ask former Broncos offensive lineman Tyler Polumbus.
If asked, McDaniels will downplay things as “just another game”, but there is no doubt that his poor tenure in Denver has weighed on his mind for quite some time. There is also no doubt that Broncos Country still greatly dislikes the man.
It will be a huge game for a couple of reasons not already mentioned. If McDaniels can get his first win as Raiders head coach against the team that he so famously failed with, it could turn the Raiders’ season around. But if the Broncos can send him to 0-4, it could effectively end their season less than a month after it kicked off.
Even if this was the only storyline you were watching this game for, it’s going to be worth the watch.
