On the eve of their week three game, the Denver Broncos got some promising injury news, specifically related to Jerry Jeudy and Patrick Surtain II.  Even though the Broncos’ injury report is rather long, they appear to be headed in the right direction.

Denver will need all hands on deck for the game.  Even though Denver has played two awful games against not so good teams, their week three game will need to see them be at their best. The San Francisco 49ers went to the NFC Championship game last season, making that two appearances in their last three seasons.

Benjamin Allbright tweeted that both Jerry Jeudy and Patrick Surtain II are expected to play on Sunday night

This is massive news for the Broncos.  Jeudy adds another wrinkle to the receiving game, and Surtain II is already one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.  Quinn Meinerz, who hurt his hamstring a couple weeks ago, appears to be nearly back to health, as Allbright notes that he’s going to dress and could start in an emergency.

This would indicate to me that he has a solid chance of playing in week four.  KJ Hamler is also expected to play, and we could see the return of Josey Jewell, who has been sorely missed.  It’s troubling that the Denver Broncos are struggling with this many injuries so early in the season.

Perhaps it would have been smart for the starters to have played a bit in the preseason.  Whatever the case may be, they appear to be closing in on some good health.  The 49ers have struggled themselves with injuries as well in the recent past.  Trey Lance is out for the season, so the Niners will have to rely on Jimmy Garoppolo, which likely will give them better results in 2022 than they would have gotten with Lance under center.
