4. Montrell Washington racks up at least 150 total yards, scores a TD

As of the time this post is being written, Jerry Jeudy has not practiced for the Denver Broncos. That’s the bad news. The good news is, KJ Hamler could be back against the 49ers after missing the Broncos’ Week 2 game against the Texans.

Even if KJ Hamler is back for Denver in Week 3, there should be an increased role in the offense for rookie Montrell Washington, who has been really impressive since the start of training camp. Washington is what you would simply call a “ball player”. He exemplifies what it looks like to just be a natural with the ball in his hands.

He may not have 4.3 speed (his 4.4 speed is plenty, though), but there’s no doubt that when the game is going, Washington can turn on the jets and play faster than most guys. He just has such a good feel for the game. As the Broncos continue to see him make impressive plays in the return game, his role in the offense will increase.

Against the 49ers, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Washington out there for at least half of the offensive snaps, if not more with Jerry Jeudy potentially missing this game (ribs). Even if Jeudy is able to play, we should see plenty of Washington rotating in. He’s earned the opportunity. Between his contributions on special teams and offensively, I think we’re going to see some explosive plays, including his first NFL touchdown.
