Broncos should sign Blake Martinez, Linebacker

This one feels like it should be a slam dunk but the Broncos just continue to stay content with their situation at inside linebacker. It’s hard to understand that thought process.

Josey Jewell has been hobbled this year and Alex Singleton has just not looked very good. Though the defense was much better overall in Week 2, it was against the Texans. A tough, physical team like the San Francisco 49ers could easily come in and push these guys around.

Martinez is a tackling machine with a lot of experience and he would be a much better option than Joe Schobert, a player the Broncos already tried this offseason.

Martinez did reportedly meet with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, so there is interest in him around the league. Should he not be offered a contract there, the Broncos should seriously consider him as he could come in and be the best inside linebacker on the team.

For his career, Martinez has 686 tackles, 13 sacks and four interceptions. He is a complete player who is still just 28 years old.

This is a guy that should end up with a contract soon and the Broncos should be highly interested.
