The Denver Broncos will face a stiff test in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers and the team should consider making a few roster additions prior to that game’s kickoff.

The Broncos have limped to a 1-1 start filled with terrible coaching, mediocre play and mounting injury concerns. The team dodged a bullet, it seems, with both Patrick Surtain and Jerry Jeudy, who each had to leave the team’s Week 2 game against the Houston Texans.

The Broncos have played arguably the two easiest games on their schedule this year, so things could get much tougher from here on out.

The team should not be satisfied with the results on the field so far and should look to make some improvements in order to be properly prepared for that to happen. If not, things could get out of hand in a hurry this season.

General manager George Paton should be scanning the waiver wire and looking at all available free agents to find the right mix of players to put the team in the best position to win. That is not currently the case, or the team would not have come out of the gates so poorly thus far.

Here are three players Paton should sign as soon as possible to improve the overall roster.

Broncos should sign Ricky Seals-Jones, Tight End

The Broncos would have to look into the medicals of Ricky Seals-Jones as a knee injury forced him to accept an injury settlement from the New York Giants this summer, so this could be more of a signing for future use.

But the Broncos could use more out of their tight ends as Albert Okwuegbunam has caught just five passes in two games and Andrew Beck has seen more action than any of the others. However, Eric Saubert is a player that steps up when his number is called.

Still, Seals-Jones is a young option with great size at 6-foot-5 and he is the kind of athletic tight end that Russell Wilson could help turn into a big weapon on offense, and right now, this offense does need more weapons for its quarterback.
