Biggest matchup to watch for in Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks

Pat Surtain vs. DK Metcalf

While an obvious matchup to monitor is Pete Carroll facing his former franchise quarterback for the first time, this matchup could shape up to be one of the best of the week. After establishing himself as a top receiving threat in the league with freak athleticism and insane figure, Metcalf will have some ground to make up after losing his starting quarterback. However, having a guy like Metcalf around to work with bodes well for the next man up in Seattle, Geno Smith.

For this week, though, Metcalf will have a tough test in going up against cornerback Pat Surtain II, who is ready to take his play a step higher after a highly successful rookie campaign, earning a spot on the PFWA NFL All-Rookie Team. Surtain matches Metcalf in physicality and speed, and Metcalf could have a long day with the second-year corner attached to his hip all day.
