Three dream free agents for the Denver Broncos in 2023

Mike Gesicki, TE

Rounding out the list of dream free agents for the Denver Broncos in 2023 is current Miami Dolphins’ tight end Mike Gesicki.  His name has been in trade talks recently, as the new offensive scheme that Mike McDaniel is implementing does call for the tight ends to be solid blockers, which Gesicki is not.

He’s a bit like Albert Okwuegbunam and Greg Dulcich, but much better.  He’s proven his worth as an above-average receiver, and could essentially be viewed as a big receiver.  I think if Denver would be willing to invest serious money into the tight end position, we’d have seen this unit underperform in 2022.

That’s definitely possible, as neither Albert O nor Dulcich was overly impressive this offseason, and neither were particularly good prospects coming out of college.  This could be an underrated position to upgrade in for 2023 and beyond.

I’d also say that signing Gesicki next offseason could cover a bit for Tim Patrick, who would be returning from a torn ACL that he suffered this offseason.  The signing would be another lethal weapon in the passing game for Russell Wilson, and he’d surely fit right in.
