Three dream free agents for the Denver Broncos in 2023

JJ Watt, DL

This would be an absolutely insane addition for the Denver Broncos.  Sure, JJ Watt isn’t the elite difference maker he once was, but we’re talking about a future Hall of Famer who has still proven to be wildly effective.

Watt is entering the last year of his deal with the Arizona Cardinals, and if they can’t make noise in the NFC this season, I think Watt would consider jumping to a team that could chase a Super Bowl.  He’s entering the final few seasons of his career most likely, so there’s reason to believe he’d want to chase a ring.

JJ Watt would start next to DJ Jones and Dre’Mont Jones in what would easily be the best defensive line in the entire NFL.  Watt would be 34 next offseason, so he’s obviously not 28 anymore, but he’d bring his 100+ career sack total, and three Defensive Player of the Year awards to Denver, which isn’t far from Arizona.

I don’t think the Broncos would have to pay up a ton of money to sign him, either.  He’s approaching the age where he won’t be paid top dollar anymore, and would be a marvelous addition for the Denver Broncos.
