The Denver Broncos open up their 2022 season on Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks. Which players will the team need to slow down?  Even though the Seahawks are clearly not going to win a ton of games in 2022, they still have some players on their roster that need to be accounted for.

The Broncos should have enough bodies on both sides of the ball to be able to do this as well.  I do think Denver ends up winning this game by two scores, but I wouldn’t be surprised if things go south for a little bit during the game.

With Russell Wilson under center and a defense filled with rock-solid players, the Denver Broncos should win double-digit games in 2022.

Three players the Broncos must slow down in week one against the Seahawks

Tyler Lockett, WR

One of the more underrated players of this generation is Tyler Lockett, who has about as much chemistry with Russell Wilson as humanly possible.  Lockett has been with the Seahawks since 2015, has accumulated over 6,000 receiving yards, and 45 touchdowns.

His deep ball connection with Wilson was evident, but it remains to be seen how effective he can be with Geno Smith and Drew Lock, who should see some time on the field this year.  Tyler Lockett isn’t a physically imposing receiver.  He’s under six foot and a small dog shy of 200 pounds.

However, Lockett has excellent speed and three straight years of 1,000 receiving yards.  It’s about a guarantee that the Seahawks will try to get Tyler Lockett to burn the Denver Broncos’ secondary.  They need to contain Lockett as his skills as a receiver can turn the tides of a game very easily.
