Broncos final roster prediction No. 2: Defensive line

One of the biggest questions with this roster going into this season was regarding how the defensive line will be built up.

Dre’Mont Jones, D.J. Jones and DeShawn Williams are going to make the team, as is fourth-round pick Eyioma Uwazurike. That leaves Mike Purcell, McTelvin Agim and Matt Henningsen fighting for what could be two spots.

When healthy, Purcell provides a veteran presence that can be a force against the run and he should beat out both Agim and Henningsen for those reasons alone. That puts Agim and Henningsen fighting for a spot.

That is a toss-up and it really comes down to what the new organization thinks of Agim, who was drafted by the previous regime.

Henningsen was a late-round pick who the Broncos could likely sneak onto the practice squad rather easily. But there is also the thought that Agim, a former third-round pick, is just not that good. If you go by what we have seen from him so far, that certainly seems to be the case.

And that is the reason the team will decide to cut its ties with him and see if he can latch on somewhere else.

Prediction: Mike Purcell and Matt Henningsen make the roster, McTelvin Agim is cut
