3 distinct advantages the Denver Broncos have in the AFC West

They’ll likely have the best defense in the division

The Broncos had the best defense in the AFC West last season, and they followed that up by signing DJ Jones to defend the run, Randy Gregory to give a burst off the edge, K’Waun Williams to replace Bryce Callahan, and they drafted Nik Bonitto and moved Baron Browning to edge as well.

The defense is objectively better on paper than it was in 2021, and we should expect them to still be a very good unit this season.

In fact, I don’t think the Raiders or Chiefs can come close to the Broncos’ defense. The Chiefs hardly have any playmakers on that side of the ball, and the Raiders’ secondary is suspect.

I do think the Chargers’ defense could run with the Broncos for a bit, but they were one of the worst units in football last year, and they added a plethora of new players as well, so I would expect that it’ll take time for them to get going.

The Denver Broncos are set to return a slew of players who had noticeable roles on the defensive side of the ball in 2021.

Hot. Three long-term goals for the Broncos starting in 2022. light

These players include Bradley Chubb, Baron Browning, Dre’Mont Jones, Mike Purcell/DeShawn Williams, Josey Jewell, Patrick Surtain II, Ronald Darby, Justin Simmons, and Kareem Jackson.

There is a ton of chemistry already established within this unit, and I don’t think it is farfetched to say that the Broncos will have the best defense in their division this season.
