The Denver Broncos have a ton of new pieces beginning in 2022, so here are three mistakes the team must avoid making in the upcoming season.

The Denver Broncos are both a team that can win a ton of games and make the playoffs, and also a team that can underwhelm a bit as well.

The Russell Wilson acquisition has skyrocketed the team into legitimate Super Bowl contention, but the new quarterback, new faces on defense, and an entirely new coaching staff can also prevent the team from reaching their potential in 2022.

I would say that beginning in 2023 and beyond, the Broncos will be more solidified in themselves as a team.

However, 2022 is the beginning of a likely dominant run for the team, perhaps similar to the stellar 10 seasons that Russell Wilson just played in Seattle.

With a new coaching staff and quarterback in town, here are three mistakes the team must avoid making in 2022, if at all possible.

Mistakes Denver Broncos must avoid in the 2022 season

Inconsistent finishes to games

The first mistake that the team has made on many occasions dating back to their 2016 season is a painful inability to close out games.

The Broncos are a team that would often snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.  Meaning, they’d have victory in their hands, only to bite themselves and falter.

On some occasions, they were able to come out victorious, but not after some unnecessary theatrics.

I look back to the game in 2021 against Washington, where they seemingly game the Football Team, now Commanders, several chances to tie the game in the fourth quarter.

Whether these occurrences were due to the inconsistent offense we’ve had to deal with, the defense occasionally slipping up, bad coaching or a mix of all of that is up for debate, but it’s clear that it happened many times during the post-Manning, pre-Wilson era.

Now that the team is largely seen as a legit contender, they have to act like one, and close out games when they have the chance.
