Donnie Lewis, Cornerback

Another spot the Broncos are deep at is cornerback as there are currently 10 of them on the roster. They could easily choose to keep all 10 of them going into the second preseason game, but choosing which player to let go instead is not an easy decision.

This comes down to either Donnie Lewis or Bless Austin for me, though you could also toss undrafted free agent Ja’Quan McMillian into the conversation. All of the other corners on the team are in the mix for a roster spot or at the very least, a spot on the practice squad.

The Broncos signed Lewis in late April just ahead of the draft. He was taken in the seventh round of the 2019 draft out of Tulane by the Cleveland Browns. He spent two seasons there before spending his next two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.

He has spent all of that time on a practice squad and has yet to ever appear in a regular season game.
