Stevie Scott III, Running Back

Stevie Scott actually led the Broncos in rushing attempts, rushing yards and yards per carry against the Cowboys, but he was just signed this week when undrafted running back Tyreik McAllister was placed on season-ending injured reserve.

You could easily place JaQuan Hardy, who was signed along with Scott this week, in this spot, but he seems to offer a little more athleticism so the team may want to see more out of him. Either way, both players were basically just brought in to round out the roster in camp and neither of them will make the team.

Scott is in his second stint with the Broncos and spent this past spring with the Michigan Panthers in the USFL. Playing in the spring league may have kept him more ready for the reps he saw on Saturday night and the team could keep him around to carry the ball through the preseason.

But Mike Boone looked horrible in this game and will need to prove he deserves a spot over guys like Max Borghi and even Hardy and Smith. The team should cut one of these backs and have the other three fight it out during the last two preseason games.
