2. Find a legitimate solution at right tackle

You could make the argument that at every position on the roster, there is at least one player who could serve as the team’s long-term answer for that position.

However, right tackle is a position that remains unsolved.  Calvin Anderson is entering his fourth season in the NFL, and many think he is ready to win the job for good.  However, he’s been the de facto RT1 because Billy Turner and Tom Compton haven’t practiced.

I’m not saying that Anderson can’t be that guy, but the jury is out on whether or not he can be for 2022 and beyond.

This is crucial for many reasons.  Perhaps the most important is because Russell Wilson needs to stay upright.  One of the issues he had with Seattle was their sub-par offensive line groups.  If the Broncos can find a long-term right tackle to likely pair with Garett Bolles, the team will have two of the most important positions on the roster set for the future.

George Paton should be ready to spend money in free agency or use high draft capital to land the right tackle of the future if Calvin Anderson cannot be that guy in 2022.  I think if he can’t, the team will end this experiment and begin their search for a legitimate solution.
