Denver Broncos stock up no. 4: Dre’Mont Jones, DL

Dre’Mont Jones isn’t going to be sneaking up on any (or many) Denver Broncos fans in 2022. He might, however, sneak up on national football analysts and pundits who haven’t really been paying close attention to the team over the last couple of years.

Jones is an absolute superstar on the interior defensive line, and he’s playing at another level in 2022.

Jones is so quick off the snap and he does an outstanding job of getting into the backfield quickly. He will undoubtedly be playing the “Aaron Donald” role in Ejiro Evero’s defense this year and while we might not see Jones challenge for 20 sacks this season, I think we’re going to see him emerge as a true star player on this Broncos defense.

Jones was wrecking practice all day against the Cowboys racking up TFLs and sacks, and I think that’s exactly what we’re going to see him do every week this season.

Denver Broncos stock up no. 5: Red zone on both sides of the ball

One of the biggest problem areas for the Denver Broncos offensively the last handful of years? The red zone. Nathaniel Hackett called the red zone the “gold zone” when he was a member of the Green Bay Packers’ coaching staff, and you can see that the Broncos’ emphasis on “gold zone” efficiency is already paying off.

Shoutout to Kendall Hinton for stringing together some really nice practices in recent days. He’s been in the circle of trust for Russell Wilson for quite some time and you have to think, especially after the Tim Patrick injury, that he’s a lock for the final roster.

As far as the “gold zone” goes, the Broncos were apparently dominant on both sides of the ball.

The Denver Broncos apparently just went out there and kicked the Cowboys’ butts all practice long. The Cowboys had some moments, of course, but from the sounds of it, the Broncos picked up right where they left off in Dallas last season.
