Biggest issues facing Broncos in 2022: Derek Carr to Davante Adams

The AFC West being a problem for the Broncos could be a subject all on its own, but each team represents a unique problem.

The Las Vegas Raiders are a trendy pick to be one of the league’s fastest-rising teams and the main reason for that was their offseason trade for wide receiver Davante Adams, who is considered by most to be the best wide receiver in the league.

He also didn’t just land anywhere. He landed in a spot where he will be catching passes from a familiar face, his old college teammate, Derek Carr.

Carr to Adams could easily become the most dangerous combination through the air in football. In college at Fresno State, the pair played just two seasons together and Adams caught over 100 passes in each season while scoring 38 touchdowns.

The Broncos will look to put Patrick Surtain on Adams most of the time and that could easily be effective, but the attention having to be paid to him will open opportunities for other dangerous weapons such as Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow.

And though Surtain appears to be the real deal, no cornerback has ever really shut Adams down, so don’t expect Carr to shy away.
