Players the Broncos could lose after 2022: Bradley Chubb, Outside linebacker

It should be no surprise that Bradley Chubb is on this list, as he is a player facing enormous pressure to succeed in 2022. But the Broncos seem to have built a plan in the event that he doesn’t.

The Von Miller-era in Denver is now over and Chubb will have to take over the role that he was drafted for — to be the team’s top pass-rusher. But to this point, injuries have prevented that from happening and frustration from the fanbase (and likely the front office) has begun to stack up.

During the offseason, the Broncos handed a hefty free-agent contract to Randy Gregory before using their first pick in the draft, a second-round choice, to select Nik Bonitto.

Chubb must step up and have a big year for the team and anything short than a double-digit sack season could certainly lead to him having to look for a new place to play beginning in 2023. If he misses a significant amount of time due to injury, that would be all but guaranteed.

Chubb will be a free agent after this season and is playing on the final year of a four-year, $27.2 million deal.
