Fringe Broncos players who have improved their roster chances: DeShawn Williams, Defensive line

DeShawn Williams is coming off of a strong season with the Broncos last year and he appears to be following that up this summer, not only pushing for a roster spot but perhaps even a starting job.

The defensive line for the Broncos is difficult to predict. D.J. Jones and Dre’Mont Jones are likely starters, but what does the team do beyond that?

Rookie Eyioma Uwazurike will have a role on this team and possibly a big one as a rookie, but what does the team do with Mike Purcell? What about McTelvin Agim and sixth-round pick Matt Henningsen?

There are a lot of questions to answer for Nathaniel Hackett and his coaching staff, but Williams is doing his best thus far to not be one of them.

Williams, in his third stint in Denver, is trying to push for a long-term role with the team and the energy he has brought to the field in training camp to this point is indicative of a player who deserves one.
