Quarterbacks for Broncos to consider if they are cut: Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh Steelers

Though recent reports suggest that Mason Rudolph has a “great chance” to win the starting job for the Pittsburgh Steelers, that’s not going to happen.

The team didn’t sign Mitch Trubisky in free agency and use a first-round pick on Kenny Pickett just to start Rudolph. There is an equally strong argument why the team won’t keep all three guys and if they drop one, it will absolutely be Rudolph.

A third-round pick of the Steelers in 2018, Rudolph has seen extensive work for the team and he’s played mediocre at best. He’s made 10 career starts, throwing 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Rudolph is a backup and that is likely all he will ever be. But he’s also a better player than the two guys the Broncos have and if he were to become available, it would make sense for the Broncos to try and grab him.
