Quarterbacks for Broncos to consider if they are cut: Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders

You can make the argument that Taylor Heinicke is still the best quarterback on the roster of the Washington Commanders but with the deal they gave Carson Wentz this offseason, he’s going to be the guy. Heinicke admitted that himself.

But in addition to trading for Wentz this offseason, the Commanders also used a fifth-round pick to select former North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell, once considered a first-round talent. If Howell were to ball out this summer, would it be possible for the Commanders to move on from Heinicke?

It would not be likely or advisable for the team to do that, but you never know which direction it might go in. If that was the choice that was made, the Broncos should absolutely put in a claim on him.

Heinicke comes with good experience, starting 15 games last year and throwing 20 touchdowns. He would be a considerable upgrade over what the Broncos have now.
