#2 player that stood out on Day 2 of Denver Broncos training camp: TE Eric Saubert

The Broncos appear to have a solid No. 3 tight end on their roster in Eric Saubert, who is entering his fifth year in the league.

Saubert was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Since then, he has seen time with several franchises, including the New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, and Chicago Bears.

That’s quite a few teams to have been a part of as a former fifth-round pick.

Saubert spent last year with the Broncos, catching eight passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. He’ll look to compete with the likes of Eric Tomlinson as TE3 (behind Albert Okwuegbunam and Greg Dulcich).

Benjamin Allbright of Broncos Country Tonight pointed out today that Saubert has been showing out really well early on. Allbright isn’t the only one taking note of Saubert’s performance:

It’s great to see a player who has not caught on with a team for very long getting his chance to shine.

He’s making the most of his opportunities and that’s exactly what Broncos coaches want to see. They want to see separation during positional competitions.
