Who will win Denver Broncos RB3 job in 2022?

Let’s do our best to handicap every player’s chances at winning the RB3 job in 2022 and projecting their role with the team.

Mike Boone

Money talks, and Boone has to be the favorite for this job when you consider the financial aspect of things.

It’s not like Boone is making starter money, but Boone has a base salary of $1.25 million and even though it’s not guaranteed, they thought highly enough of him to give him a two-year deal in 2021.

Boone also gives you a great combination of size, speed, and special teams ability.

Damarea Crockett

Crockett is the guy I think a lot of people are really sleeping on here for the Denver Broncos in 2022.

He’s got the ideal physical and athletic makeup to be really good in a wide zone scheme and the Broncos got to see him play special teams all throughout last season.

Availability in 2021 could help Crockett make the roster in 2022.

Tyreik McAllister

Short of a miraculous preseason, I think McAllister’s best bet to stick with the Denver Broncos will be on the practice squad this year.

He’s going to need some time to develop, but speed can earn you playing time rather quickly in the NFL if you can be a difference-maker more often than not.

McAllister could come out in preseason games and return a kickoff for a touchdown and really give the Broncos something to think about.
