Broncos 53-man roster projection: Wide receiver (6, 11/53)

Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, K.J. Hamler, Montrell Washington, Travis Fulgham

Cuts: Tyrie Cleveland, Seth Williams, Kendall Hinton, Trey Quinn, Jalen Virgil, Brandon Johnson, Kaden Davis

There are some great options in this group and that is what makes it one of the most competitive positions on the roster. However, the first four spots are probably a lock.

Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler are going to make the team.

Fifth-round pick Montrell Washington has a good shot at securing a spot and being the team’s main kick and punt return guy and if the team chooses to keep six wide receivers as this model predicts, that sixth spot to go to anyone.

Kendall Hinton is likely the current favorite to win that spot but Tyrie Cleveland has logged some time with the team and can be a real special teams contributor. Jalen Virgil, Brandon Johnson and Kaden Davis all have upside as undrafted guys as well.

But for me, at least right now, the last spot is going to go to Travis Fulgham, who showed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020 that he can make the most of an opportunity. That sixth wide receiver will likely be a gameday inactive most weeks but should one of the top four guys go down for whatever reason, Fulgham would be a good guy to call upon.

With a 16-man practice squad, at least three of the players who are cut will likely be placed on that practice squad as well.
