Broncos training camp storylines: The offensive line

Many of the position groups on this roster are unsettled, but it’s difficult to say that any of them feature more questions than the offensive line. The team does have several options, which is a good thing.

Garett Bolles is going to be the team’s starting left tackle, that much we know. But beyond that, the team could use any combination of four other players to round out the starting lineup and it’s possible (perhaps likely) that several different combinations will be used this season.

The big question starts at right tackle, where Calvin Anderson, Billy Turner and Tom Compton are set to battle for the starting spot. It seems sure that one of those three players will win that job.

There is more uncertainty at center and the two guard spots, where Lloyd Cushenberry, Dalton Risner and Graham Glasgow figure to be the guys that get the first-team reps to begin with.

If Cushenberry does not nail down the starting center spot, the team could slide Glasgow over there or use either Quinn Meinerz or rookie Luke Wattenberg there.

Meinerz will be an option at guard as well as will Netane Muti and Ben Braden, who has experience in a Hackett-run offense.

It will be very interesting to see how the Broncos shape this offensive line and you can bet that the reserves will get their fair share of action this season as well.
